Alstan Alstan Jakubiec, Chief Technical Officer
Alstan is a PhD student in the Building Technology program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Chief Technology Officer of Solemma, LLC. His expertise is in daylight and thermal modeling at the building and urban scales as well as architectural design. He has worked for the Southface Energy Institute in Atlanta and the Environmental Design Department at Takenaka Corporation in Osaka, Japan. Alstan holds a Bachelors of Science in Architecture and a Masters of Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of Pennsylvania respectively.

 

Kera Kera Lagios, Chief Marketing Officer
Kera is a designer at Lam Partners, Inc. a lighting design firm in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and the Chief Marketing Officer at Solemma, LLC. She has worked at Lam Partners since 2010 and her work there includes both daylight and electric lighting design for many large scale commercial and institutional projects. She has particular expertise in daylighting, digital simulation tools, scripting, and visualization methods ranging from simple renderings to complex, physically accurate animations. Kera holds a Masters degree in Architecture from Harvard University's Graduate School of Design and a bachelor's degree in Art History from the University of Michigan.

 

Jeff Jeff Niemasz, Chief Financial Officer and Managing Member
Jeff is a design consultant in Minneapolis. He is the Chief Financial Officer of Solemma, LLC and a recent distinguished graduate of Harvard's Graduate School of Design. His interests include daylight and health, building simulations, computational design, and wood construction. Before embarking on a career in design, Jeff worked as an internist and holds a medical degree from the University of Chicago and completed his residency training at the University of Minnesota.

 

ChristophChristoph Reinhart, Director of Research and Managing Member
Christoph is an Associate Professor of Building Technology at MIT and Director of Research at Solemma, LLC. He is working in the field of sustainable building design and environmental modeling with research expertise is in daylighting, passive climatization techniques and the influence of occupant behavior on building energy use. He is also the main developer of the Daysim plug-in which has a user base in over 90 countries. Before joining MIT in 2012 Christoph led the Sustainable Design concentration area at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design and worked for a decade as a staff scientist at the National Research Council Canada and the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems. He holds a doctorate in architecture from the Technical University of Kalrsruhe and a Masters degree in physics from Albert Ludwigs Universitat Freiburg.

Jon Jon Sargent, Chief Creative Officer
Jon is an architectural designer based in New York, and Chief Creative Officer at Solemma LLC. He specializes in shading optimization, thermal modeling, and computational design. Before studying architecture, he worked in proteomics research at the University of California, San Francisco. Jon holds a bachelor's degree in astronomy from Columbia University, and Masters in Architecture from Harvard University's Graduate School of Design.
